Have you got what it takes to play Big Edd?
What's it all about?
Big Edd is the ultimate contest of popularity, skill and know-how between you and up to 499 other online players, all competing to claim the Big Edd cash prize and join Big Edd's Elite.
You have just 14 days to gain as many points as possible, and the player with the most points after 14 days is crowned the winner and walks away with the cash prize. For each eligible player who enters, £2 is added to the prize fund, up to a maximum of £1000.
How often are the contests?
There will be one contest each month and each contest will last 14 days. We like to keep things fresh so each contest may differ slightly each month, with regards to the cash prize, the theme, or ways of earning points.
How does this month's (April 09) contest work?
£2 is added to the prize fund for each eligible player who enters, and the player with the most points at the end of the contest wins the total cash prize. Please note, there will be no winner, if the minimum score of 1500 points is not reached.
Do I have to pay to enter?
Big Edd is currently free to enter and is open to anyone 16 and over. All you need is a valid email address, phone number and to be resident in the UK. Certain future contests may have a much higher cash prize and may incur a small entry fee.
What do I have to do to enter?
You'll first have to correctly answer the entry challenge question. Then, you'll enter your personal member page and upload your photo and profile. Your face will then enter the grid and you can just sit tight until the start date.
Then what?
Once the contest starts you will have just 14 days to collect as many points as you can. The contest starts at 6am on the start date and ends at 11pm, 14 days later. You gain points by persuading people to vote for you online and by answering the daily challenge questions. You will need to do everything in your power to spread the word, and get as many votes as you can. Remember each person can vote once every 24 hours, so you need to remind people to logon to Big Edd every day to vote for you.
Your picture on the grid will also entice strangers to vote for you, and having clicked on your face, they'll learn all about you from your profile. Once the contest is running you will be able to log into your personal member page each day to track your scorecard, and see how many points you've accumulated. Everyone else will also be able to see how you're doing by checking your coloured border and the Ed Count on the homepage.
What Happens after 14 days?
After 14 days, the player with the most points is declared the winner, they join Big Edd's Elite and the cash prize is delivered to them in person. Please note, there will be no winner, if the minimum score of 1500 points is not reached.
What if I don't win?
All players will receive details of their final score and position shortly after the competition ends, It's not the end of the world if you don't win, and you can always try again!
Will it always be the same competition?
Big Edd always likes to mix things up a bit and certain contests may be themed or just plain daft! So keep watching, as your big moustache or mad hair may well earn you a fortune on Big Edd.
